15 September, 2018, the International Clean Beach Day EUWI+ social media challenge "I cleaned - Your turn!" Take the challenge!

The International Clean Beach Day, will be organised on September 15, when all countries in the world concentrate their efforts on the cleaning of river banks and marine and ocean beaches.  The event has synergy with the International Coastal Clean-up initiated in 1986

The pollution caused by communal waste and especially plastic becomes more and more problematic and raise the issue of public awareness on sustainable waste management. This year the International Clean Beach Day goes hand in hand with the World Clean Up Day, initiated at the Planet scale by NGO “Let’s Do It » This clean up concerns not only banks and coasts, but the whole environment.

At this occasion the EUWI+ project, together with its partners in the EaP countries, announced the launch of a social media challenge, “I cleaned – Your turn!”, to draw attention and encourage action on the cleaning and protection of banks and beaches.

A short video supporting the campaign is available in the 6 national languages.
