On March 15, 2018 in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, were held the first meetings of the Working Groups on Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) and Joint Action Plans (JAP) and also on hydropower in the Dniester River basin in framework of GEF project "Promoting cross-border cooperation and integrated water resources management in the Dniester River basin". EUWI + project experts participated in the work of the groups and discussed how to harmonize the TDA of the Dniester in accordance with the WFD requirements for the Analysis of the Dniester River Basin. For Ukraine, the project's activities allow the preparation of the River Basin Management Plan for the Dniester River in accordance with the legislative acts harmonized with the WFD, and for the Republic of Moldova to update the Plan already approved by the Government. It`s good opportunity to implement the similar tasks and exchanging experience among EUWI+ project and Dniester project.

The objectives of the meeting: to agree on the process of developing the TDA / JAP, formalize the working group, tasks and deadlines, coordination and communication within the group and with the beneficiaries; discuss issues related to hydropower / water distribution / environment - in different countries; determine how the project on the Dniester River can help in assessing the impact on the environment; to get an idea of how the project will help in developing recommendations for the rules of operation of the Dniester reservoirs.
