Water Laboratory Opening in Azerbaijan: European Union provides laboratory equipment to detect industrial chemicals and pesticides in water
Azerbaijan and the European Union continue to intensify their relations, consolidating their partnership. As part of Azerbaijan’s engagement, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources cooperates with the European Union through the EU Water Initiative Plus for Eastern Partnership Countries (EUWI+). The laboratory renovation and the supply of state-of-the-art analytical equipment, conducted with support from EUWI+, are a major milestone towards approximating the EU Water Framework Directive and a tangible proof of progress towards integrated water management.
The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources together with EUWI+ will hold a Laboratory Opening Ceremony to celebrate these achievements and to raise awareness on the importance water management considerations on the policy level. The event is hosted by the minister in attendance of high-level guests and national media outlets. Dignitaries will be guided on a visit to the laboratory and jointly analyse a sample of river water using the new laboratory equipment under the guidance of laboratory personnel.
