Moldova takes over the presidency of the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) for the year 2020

Objectives :

Dorin Andros (Moldova) will take over the ICPDR presidency during the official introduction of the ICPDR President in Vienna on 30 January.

The International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) is a transnational body, which has been established  to ensure the sustainable and equitable use of waters in the Danube River Basin. The work of the ICPDR is based on the Danube River Protection Convention, the major legal instrument for cooperation and trans-boundary water management in the Danube River Basin. The ICPDR is  the platform for the implementation of all transboundary aspects of the European Union Water Framework Directive (WFD) and also takes responsibility for coordinating the implementation of the European Union Floods Directive in the Danube River Basin.
