Ukraine - Pollutant Screening in the Dnipro river basin

Description: In the frame of EUWI+, the Environment Agency Austria trained the EaP countries national authorities on investigative monitoring principles (to investigate further pollutants or other unclear water body status aspects). In order to practically exercise this type of monitoring, specific surveys are about to start in the EaP countries. Within the scope of Investigative Monitoring (WFD) exercises in all EaP countries, there will be a special Pollutant Screening of the Dniepr basin in Ukraine. Starting in the 2nd week of October, water and fish samples will be taken at 27 sites to inquire the presence of more than 2000 chemical pollutants.
