Objectives

On 7 July, Ukraine will celebrate the International Day of the Dnieper River, the third largest river in Europe and the main waterway of the country.

EUWI+ will join country’s authorities in organising large-scale public event, entertainment programs for children, master classes and spectacular 500 meters-swim across the Dnieper River.

The Dnieper River Day is an opportunity to draw public attention to the environmental problems of the main waterway of Ukraine, as well as discuss institutional changes in the country’s water sector.

EUWI+ has been assisting Ukraine in the preparation of the River Basin Management Plan, which would flag the introduction of a new basin management philosophy in the country.
